KIND WORDS AND KIND ACTIONS

KIND WORDS AND KIND ACTIONS

Bismiallah ir rahmaan ir raheem.

It was narrated on the authority of Abu Hurariah that:

Abu Bakr (ra) and Imam Ali (ra) both wanted to see the Messenger Muhammad (saw). They went to his (saw) house and arrived at his (saw) doorstep. Abu Bakr (ra) said to Ali (ra) “You go in first.” Ali (ra) replied “Please you knock and you go before me.” Abu Bakr (ra) insisted that Ali (ra) should go before him. Ali (ra) said “I will never go in front of a man of whom the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said, the sun never rises and sets on any man better than Abu Bakr.” Abu Bakr (ra) said, “How can I go before the person of whom the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said, the best woman (Fatima ra) was given to the best man (Ali).” Ali (ra) said, “I will never enter before the person of whom the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said on the Day of Judgement a call will come from the Almighty Allah (swt) saying, O Abu Bakr you and the ones that love you enter Jannah.” Abu Bakr (ra) said, “I will never go before you because you will come riding on the Day of Judgement and it will be said that he (Ali) was a good man, a good brother, a good father.” Ali (ra) said I will never go before you when the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said that if the imaan of Abu Bakr was placed on one side of a scale and the imaan of the rest of the ummah was placed on the other side, the imaan of Abu Bakr would outweigh the imaan of the ummah.”

Abu Bakr (ra) said, I cannot go before you when the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said that on the Day of Judgement Ali will come with his wife Fatima and their two children riding on a camel and the people will ask ‘who is this O Prophet’? The reply will be that this is the one whom Allah (swt) loves.” Ali (ra) replied that the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said that Allah (swt) said that the one who brought sidq is Rasulullah and Siddeeq is the one who follows.

Gibraeel was instructed to go and say to the Messenger Muhammad (saw) that Allah sends his salaams and that all the Malaeekah are listening to the conversation between Abu Bakr and Ali and go out and be the third one (to solve it). Also Allah (swt) sends his special Rahmah and has built a fence of imaan and adaab between them. The Messenger Muhammad (saw) came out and embraced and kissed both of his companions and said “By the one in whose hand has my soul, if the sea was ink, the trees were pens and the creation of the heavens and the earth were writing they would never be able to write about your virtues or describe your words.”
