SECLUSION IN MADINAH

SECLUSION IN MADINAH

Shaykh Nazim states: "No one ever had the privilege of making seclusion with his Shaykh. I had the privilege of making a seclusion in the same room with my Shaykh (Abdullah Daghestani) in Madinah al-Munawwara. It was in an ancient room near the Prophet's Holy Mosque. It had one door and one window. As soon as I entered the room with my Shaykh, he blocked the window by boarding it up. He gave me authorization to leave the room only for the five daily prayers in the Holy Mosque of the Prophet ."
. "I was ordered by my Shaykh to keep the practice, Nazar bar Qadam, 'Watching the Step,' when I walked to the prayers. By disciplining and controlling the sight, this practice is a means to disconnect oneself from everything except Allah, Almighty and Exalted, and His Prophet ."
.
. "My Shaykh never slept during that seclusion. For one year I never saw him sleeping. He never touched food. We were given one bowl of lentil soup and one piece of bread each day. He would always give his share to me. He only drank water. He never left that room."
.
.
"Day after day and night after night my Shaykh sat reading Qur'an by the light of a lamp, making Dhikr and raising his hands in dua. For hours he would make du`a (supplication) and one du`a never resembled another. Each one was different from the other and throughout the whole year, he never repeated the same du`a. Sometimes I was not able to understand the language he was using in the du`a because it was a heavenly language. I could only understand these du`as by means of the visions and inspirations that came to my heart.
.
"I didn't know when night left and day arrived except by the prayers. Grandshaykh `Abdullah never saw the light of day for one whole year, only the light of the candle. I would see the daylight only when I went out for the prayers."
.
.
"Through that seclusion I was raised to different levels of spirituality. One day I heard him saying, "O Allah give me the Power of intercession, from the Power of Intercession You have granted Your Prophet , to intercede for all human beings on the Day of Judgment to lift them up to be in Your Divine Presence." As he was saying that I was in a vision experiencing the Judgment Day, and Allah, Almighty and Exalted, was descending on His `Arsh (throne) and judging people. The Prophet was on the Right Side of the Divine Presence. Grandshaykh was on the right side of the Prophet and I was on Grandshaykh's right side."
.
.
"After Allah had judged the people, he authorized the Prophet to intercede. When the Prophet had interceded and finished, he ordered Grandshaykh to give his blessings and to lift the people up with the spiritual power that he had been given. That vision ended as I heard my Shaykh saying, 'Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Nazim Effendi, I got the answer.'"
.
.
"These visions continued. One day he told me after I returned from Fajr prayer, 'Nazim Effendi, Look!' Where should I look, up, down, right or left? It came to me look at his heart. As soon as I looked at his heart a great unveiling occurred to me and I saw Sayyidina `Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani (q) appear in his physical body and tell me, 'O my son, your Shaykh is unique. No one like him has ever come before.' Then he invited Grandshaykh and me to come with him."

. "Immediately we saw ourselves with Sayyidina `Abdul Khaliq in another place on this earth. He said, Allah, Almighty and Exalted, has ordered me to go to that rock,' and we were following him to a rock. He said, 'Allah has ordered me to hit that rock.' When he hit the rock an incredibly powerful stream of water came gushing forth from that rock, the like of which I had never seen before. Sayyidina `Abdul Khaliq said, 'That water is coming out today and is going to continue to pour out like this until the Judgment Day.'
.
. "Then he said, 'Allah Almighty has told me that He is creating from every drop of this water an angel of light, which will be praising Him until Judgment Day. And He has ordered me by saying, 'O My servant `Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani, your job is to give every angel its name. You cannot use any name twice. You must name each one with a different name and count their praises. You will divide the rewards of their praises among the followers of the Naqshbandi Order. That responsibility is on you.' Then that vision ended. I was so attracted to Sayyidina `Abdul Khaliq al-Ghujdawani and amazed by his incredible task."
.
.
"Visions continued to pour on me in similar fashion. In the last day of our seclusion, after Fajr prayer, I heard a voice outside the room crying. I heard one great voice and many smaller voices like the voices of many children crying. That crying did not stop, but I was unable to go and see who was crying because I had no permission. The sound of crying kept increasing and continued for hours..
.
. ..."Then Grandshaykh looked at me and said, 'Nazim Effendi, do you know who is crying?' Though I knew that it was not the cries of human beings, I said, 'O my Shaykh, you know better.' Immediately he told me, 'This is Iblas (Satan) and his soldiers. Do you know why they are crying?' I said, 'O my Shaykh, you know better.' He said, 'Satan announced to his devils that two people on this earth have escaped their control.'
.
.
"Then I saw a vision that Satan and his soldiers were encircled with a heavenly chain that prevented them from reaching my Shaykh and me. That vision ended. Then Grandshaykh said, 'Alhamdulillah, the Prophet is happy with you and I am happy with you.' Then he put his hand on my heart and I immediately saw the Prophet and 124,000 prophets, 124,000 Companions, 7007 Naqshbandi Saints, 313 Exalted saints, the five Qutbs and the Ghawth. All of them were congratulating me and they each poured into my heart their divine knowledge. I inherited from them the secrets of the Naqshbandi Order and the secrets of the 40 other Orders."

BEING FULLY PRESENT

 https://igcdn-photos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/t51.2885-19/10748031_1501364796797162_1100522222_a.jpg

BEING FULLY PRESENT

PART 1

Our Grandshaykh was saying that if you like to take benefit from listening or attending a meeting you must be present in body and heart, but so many people are just like empty jars, sitting. Divine Knowledges pour out when the heart is present. It means when listening with the ears of your heart it gives you Divine Powers.

PART 2
Our Grandshaykh (qs) said that if one person in a meeting is scratching his head, the suhbah must come down seven degrees and the scratching one may lose that Divine outpouring. But worse, some careless people are speaking with each other, some watching the door to see who is coming and going, some looking at the clock, and the power is going down.

Grandshaykh was always annoyed about this. If you are giving care, reminding yourself, "My heart is in the shaykh's hands and he is in relationship with the Prophet ﷺ and the Prophet is in the Divine Presence", you will not be distracted.

PART 3

Our Grandshaykh (q) told of two mureeds in his homeland: one was in seclusion for spiritual practice; the second came one day by order of their shaykh to take the brother for a walk outside of the village. They were going on the road in conversation about important spiritual instructions when they reached the fields of the one in seclusion.

As they approached, his eyes wandered to those fields. The other said, "Oh my brother, turn back to your seclusion, you are leaving pearls and turning to fields."

PART 4

Our attention span is very short. Psychologists say in the first fifteen minutes we have keen attention, afterwards decreasing. Our Grandshaykh (qs) says not to make any meeting more than three hours, even though people may be strongly interested. As much as you can make it shorter more benefit comes, especially in our time.

HOW TO BECOME FREE OF BAD CHARACTER

Source - https://igcdn-photos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xap1/t51.2885-19/10748031_1501364796797162_1100522222_a.jpg

HOW TO BECOME FREE OF BAD CHARACTER

PART 1

Our Grandshaykh (qs) is saying his every advice is like ammo for guns, given to you to use against the enemy (your ego), but you are only taking them and making a stash. We are giving them to you for shooting; that is our intention. We are giving you shells for every range, some for nearby and some for the other side of the mountain. Yet our Grandshaykh is saying, "I can't find anyone to keep my advices."
.
O People! I hope you may keep his advice. [To be continued.]

PART 2

Grandshaykh AbdAllah (q) is asking, what is that which Allah Almighty and his Prophet ﷺ don't like? You must know, and when knowing, keep far away from it. He answers that it is to look after a person's faults. Allah has prohibited this as it is a big sin and the worst action a person can make. You also have faults, everyone has so many, and you have a responsibility for those faults in the Divine Presence, so why are you looking at the faults of others? You must eliminate your own.

PART 3

When one is looking to the faults of another, the respect we have for him or her in our heart disappears, the love toward that person is extinguished and, therefore, it is prohibited. Everyone has so many faults that if we were looking at them all would become enemies to one another! It causes separation of the community and then comes Shaytan to capture us.
.
Tasawwuf calls for such actions that bring love and build strong relations between people, to protect us from badness and give power to our faith. Therefore, we are ordered to worship together so our faith will grow stronger.

PART 4

Our Grandshaykh (qs)says we must be careful that Shaytan does not make our worship unacceptable. It is unacceptable when we are asking for any rewards. We must ask for our Lord's pleasure only. When all the ego's desires are finished, then one is a servant of the Lord. To look for some reward for worshipping is like idol worship, it is a secret form of polytheism.

Sincerity is to ask only for your Lord's service. So many people are worshipping and then doing what their ego demands. This means they are servants of Allah and of Shaytan, which is a dangerous way.

PART 5

Until we become clean of bad character we can't be free of Satan, this world, our egos, and vain desires. Until you become fully aware for each step you make with your foot, whether that step is on the right way or the wrong way, you remain in need of alignment in your heart.

You must know and be awake to where you are putting your foot. One second's heedlessness may cause a dangerous accident. Therefore, we are always in need to repeat the word of Testification, to put us on the right way. Ash-hadu an laa ilaaha illa-Llaah illa-Llaah illa-Llaah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasooluh.

PART 6

Until we become free of bad character we cannot attain to real faith and without real faith there is no real life, the life that is forever. Whoever realizes real faith in this world will live on in the grave, his body not turning to dust. That is a sign from Allah Almighty that one has reached true life.

PART 7 (Final)

How is it possible to save ourselves from bad character? A bad charecteristic is pride; Shaytan was thrown out of the Divine Presence for his pride. If a person is not humble enough to accept another to teach him lessons, he is proud. You must have a Sufi teacher to show you how to apply the Divine ordinances to yourself,as he learned from his shaykh how to use Shari'ah on himself. There can be no surgeon who hasn't witnessed a surgery performed, but learned only from books.

Some Secrets Of His Divine Realm

‎بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم.

Some Secrets Of His Divine Realm

I am always asking Divine Help from my Lord so that I may clearly explain these important matters. Perhaps hundreds or thousands of people will listen to these words, and I am asking my Lord to grant them understanding and benefit, so that they may tread a straight path and escape from the traps of devils. This is a very high ideal, and everyone must have this ideal and purpose. We must try to help everyone, not only for the sake of our own salvation, but for that of all mankind. Allah Almighty is calling us to this way.

We are speaking about the holy verses (Ayat) of our Creator, Allah Almighty. According to our Grandsheikh’s explanation, every verse is an endless independent ocean of meaning; you can take all things from that ocean. Even if we would absorb from the ocean of one ayat throughout all eternity, it would never be exhausted; they remain the same limitless oceans eternally.

Perhaps someone may ask, “For what did Allah create these eternal oceans?” We must know that Allah Almighty is never in need of anything, and therefore is creating all those oceans solely for the sake of His servants. The main attribute of Allah Almighty is His Being beyond need of anyone; but while He is never in need of anything, His creatures’ main attribute is to be in need at every moment. The creature can never be above need of his Creator; if the Divine Help which keeps everything in existence was to be pulled out for even a second from the smallest atomic, particle, then that piece would cease to exist.

Now, you must know that Allah Almighty is the Creator, and He is forever creating. No one can define a limit or a beginning for His creation. He was creating from pre-eternity and will create forever. Eternity means ‘outside of time’; Allah is the Creator, and He brought the Sons of Adam into time—but they originated outside of time. They are like a gigantic river: every creature coming from timelessness, from a world where time has no meaning, then entering into time and ultimately returning to eternity from whence he came. On both ends of the river’s journey we find eternity.

We are all in need of those endless meaning oceans, and every creature is swimming in them, from his Lord’s favors. The divine reason for His verses being such endless oceans is that we may say, “Our Lord has limitless sovereignty over His Realm.” For such a realm there must be an infinity of servants, creatures, worshipers, angels and kingdoms. No one can fully understand his Lord; one may know a little regarding his Lord, but it is quite impossible to know all. He is the absolute solute King over His Kingdom, and there is no partner unto Him. When His servants know this they will say, “Oh my Lord, we are powerless.” When they are thus recognizing and admitting their powerlessness, He gives them from His Divine Power and dresses them with it, which enables them to dive into those oceans and derive more and more benefit from Divine Wisdom and Knowledge.

Our Grandsheikh was saying that each Prophet and Saint has a special position and rank particular to him and unlike that of another. In accordance with their respective positions, they are taking Divine Wisdom and Knowledge from that ocean. What are they doing with this Knowledge and Wisdom’ The more they take of it the more they are improving through Divine Lights, thus approaching their Lord’s Divine Presence where they experience boundless pleasure in witnessing more beauty oceans from His Divine Face. Therefore, they have become obsessed with their Lord. If, for example, a thirsty person drinks salty water, he will demand more and more in a vain attempt to quench his thirst, and eventually , he will die. In the case of Prophets and Saints, they also ask to drink more and more of their Lord’s beauty oceans; but contrary to the drinker of salt water, they become endlessly more satisfied as they drink and grow ever more pleased with their Lord’s Presence, so that they pursue it tirelessly and will sacrifice all things for the sake of this Divine Favor.

The Prophets and Saints who sacrifice everything in this way are most wise and discerning, but those people who neglect that excellent and most valuable life, turning instead to this dirty life, are the most foolish of people; they abandon eternal life in exchange for a bit of fading enjoyment.‎

SURPASSING THE MIND'S LIMITATIONS

SURPASSING THE MIND'S LIMITATIONS 1

Grandshaykh AbdAllah (qs) told me about Ka`b al-Ahbar, the most learned man among Jews living in Hijaz in the time of the Prophetﷺ. Because of his great learning, Ka`b expected the coming of the Last Prophetﷺ whose appearance he found foretold in the Scriptures. Ka`b's knowledge was so extensive that he had reached the 'Station of Gabriel', but not beyond.
.
According to Grandshaykh, knowledge is divided into two parts: one part extends from the Earth to the Station of Gabriel (a). The Sons of Adam may learn this knowledge through their intellectual efforts. The other part extends upward from the Station of Gabriel, the Archangel who represents intelligence, and intellectual knowledge reaches up to his station.
.
However, after that station are oceans of strange and wonderful knowledge beyond the boundaries of the mind and intellect. The mind is not capable of balancing those oceans of knowledge and when confronted with them can only say, "No further can I go, I have reached my limit."

2

Technologically-learned people are floundering and struggling unsuccessfully to arrive at a complete understanding of the Creation through empirical knowledge: they want to be able to see everything in front of their two eyes and analyze it by their five senses, and anything outside of the perception of their senses is rejected. Whosoever says that knowledge is limited to what the five senses can observe and does not accept any other type of knowledge is a fool, for you can never limit knowledge!

Islam Came to Teach People Good Character

Part 1
Islam came to teach people good character, as it fights bad character. The worst character is to be angry as it opens the door to all bad characters. He who cannot stop his anger cannot keep his iman nor his good works as it destroys all good things, and no good can stay when anger is present.
.
Therefore, our Prophet ﷺ ordered his nation to keep away from anger. He said, “'The most powerful wrestler is he who can stop his anger!” Whoever is conquered by his anger cannot be a servant of Allah Almighty, because when he is angry he leaves goodness for his anger. It means he is under the command of his ego and he cannot obey his Lord. O People! Think on it.

Part 2

We must always practice leaving anger. Once we were sitting with our Grandshaykh and his servant, who was an old man. While we sat, a fly came up and bit the servant and quickly he became angry and killed the fly. Our Grandshaykh looked at him and told me, “Tell him, Nazim Effendi, that he must get up and renew his wudu as now it is no good, it went away with his anger." To kill a flea in anger is a criminal action, a sin!
.
Anger is the worst character. All governments are fighting for anger, and all people also. Anger grows and is like an ocean for all bad characters; if you can dry up that ocean then no more bad characters can live in it, finished. This is a very, very good manner. You must use this, for it is the order of Allah ﷻ, His Prophet ﷺ and all Awliya.

Part 3

Our Grandshaykh is a great doctor for the illnesses of the ego. Here is his prescription for us when we are angry:

If you are angry go make wudu, because anger is fire and fire goes away with water; therefore, do wudu. Anger is permitted only for our egos, so if you must be angry, be angry at your Nafs that is leading you away from your Lord! I shall tell you a story, also from our Grandshaykh, on that point:
.
A 'majdhub' is someone who is 'crazy' for Allah Almighty, and he is above ordinary people, on a different level from them. There was a majdhub living in a certain town. One day he was walking along when he came upon a group of children playing. Now, children know when a man is on an extraordinary level, and they like to run after them and make trouble for them. And so it happened that a boy threw a stone at the majdhub, and hit him on the head.
.
As soon as the stone hit him, the majdhub began to slap himself, saying, “Go to your homeland! Go to your home!” As the startled children watched, the majdhub continued down the street in that way, striking himself and saying over an over, “Go to your home! Go to your home!"

Part 4

What is the meaning of that story? Our Grandshaykh says the majdhub was teaching us about our egos. When he said, “Go to your home, go to your home!" what he meant was, "O ego! If you were alright, then these children wouldn't be throwing stones at you. You must return to your home, to the promise that you made to your Lord on the Day of Promises, before you came into this world, your Lord asked, 'Am I your Lord?' and you answered, 'Yes, you are my Lord!'
.
When you return to that promise, nothing gives you trouble. When that boy hit you with that stone, O ego, it was to call attention to the fact that you must be careful with your promise to your Lord. You must, therefore, go to your homeland, return to your Lord!”

Part 5

This story means you have no right to be angry with another person, you must turn your anger to your own ego! You must think, "If I am alright, then all things will be alright with me. If I am not alright, then people will not be alright with me."
.
O People! With such thinking, we will be angry and fighting our egos only.

Part 6
Our Grandshaykh said anger is of two kinds. The first kind is the anger of ordinary people on behalf of their egos, not for Allah Almighty. You may say, "How? If a man sees a wrong thing, mustn't he get angry?" Yes, I agree with you.

But first I would say to you, why are you not angry with your self, your nafs? If you are seeing wrong things and getting angry, you should look first to your self, your ego! Be angry with it! Punish it for your wrongdoings, for bad speaking, for looking at haram. Why are you not punishing yourself?

It is easy to punish another, too easy. It is easy to kill others, but instead, kill your ego! When you are angry make a new wudu, and say three times the Shahada and seventy times "Astaghfirullah", and say, "O ego, this is your punishment!

Part 7

[Anxious to punish their egos, murids asked Mawlana Shaykh Nazim questions.]
.
[Sayyidi, is it alright to fast on the light days of the week? We've been fasting every Monday and Thursday since Ramadan.]

Mawlana: No need. You may fast from haram looking, you may fast from anger, you may fast from bad words! Not eating or drinking, that fast I don't want. It is too easy to go without eating, I don't want that. No bad speaking, no bad looking, no anger, that is difficult! So many people are fasting, yet they are angry seventy times until Maghrib! They say, "We are fasting!" but how can you fast if you are angry?

Part 8

The second kind of anger is for Allah Almighty. This is only for those who have killed their egos. We are too far from that! [Question from a murid: What about children who misbehave? Sometimes they can make one very angry.]
.
You may give them tarbiyya, which is to educate them with good manners. Also taqlib, to make them fear your speaking. It is like acting: you use a fierce voice, but inside you are not angry. Anger is prohibited.

Part 9
.
Anger is for Allah! Our Grandshaykh told a story on that point: "Once during jihad in the time of Rasulullah (salAllahu alayhi was sallim), Sayyidina Ali (karam Allahu wajha) fought an enemy in a fierce battle, a huge, powerful wrestler, and it was a difficult fight. Suddenly, Ali managed to disarm his opponent, flung him to the ground and raised his sword to kill the man. Just as his sword was about to strike, the enemy spat in his face! Sayyidina Ali lowered his sword and said, 'Get up, I cannot kill you.'

Part 10

The enemy soldier was dumbfounded and asked, "Why are you not killing me? Why are you leaving me like this? Am I not your enemy?" Sayyidina Ali (karam Allah wajha) said, "I became filled with my ego's anger, so I cannot kill you! Before you spat in my face I fought you for the sake of Allah, but when you spat on me I became angry for the sake of my ego; therefore, I cannot kill you, you may go."
.
These words reached the fallen man's heart. "O, Ali!" he cried, "You are on the right way! Please take me to your Prophet (peace be upon him)!" He entered Islam at the Prophet's hand."
.
If your anger is like this, if you are like Sayyidina Ali (karam Allah wajha) then you too may be angry. If your character is not like that, you must keep it to yourself!

Keep your Shaykh in your heart

Naqshbandiyya Nazimiyya of Australia

Keep your Shaykh in your heart

If a mureed does this he can be able to be forever with his Shaykh. That is the best because he helps you at any time. Carrying you – but when you are forgetting, leaving you to you. Your power is only like a battery but when the Shaykh is coming it is like electricity coming. That power continues, but a battery has limits. Therefore they are asking for mureeds to be with his Shaykh. That fills him up with Divine Power that runs to the heart of Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ, and running from him to the saints, to Grandshaykh – and when you are taking your shaykh with you, that power is running to you.

Because man is created weak and needs support. Allah Almighty gives that support from His Divine Power through His beloved servant, Sayyidina Muhammad ﷺ and on through saints. Awliya are like springs, you may reach them. You may wash yourself. You may do everything. If no springs you can’t do anything. Allah Almighty made for His servants, Prophets, and saints so that ordinary people may reach His Divine Oceans through those springs which come from the Divine Oceans. As much as you need, try to be with them. And try to be with one who is closer than you.

Grandshaykh is now with the Messenger of God ﷺ. He left someone to be with you, one who is like you - – that is my mission. Because Grandshaykh gives from his spiritual power – so that who touches my hand is touching the hand of Grandshaykh. Who asks, may ask through me because I am connected to them. I am not alone; I belong to the silsilah. The Chain is not broken. Praise be to God.
